A Cute Move with a Tiny Stack?
Was watching an old rerun of an WPT final.
David Benyamine had a tiny stack, approx 2bb's and was on the button. Everyone passed and he CALLED on the button rather than min raising allin. It seemed weird. But on reflection it does make sense and may slightly increase his EV. The sb made up and the BB checked. The flop came down and both blinds checked. Now DB pushed allin. His move had 2 positive benefits. Firstly it had the chance of getting at least one of the blinds to fold if they totally missed the flop when the were almost certain to call preflop. Second, it reopened the betting allowing one the blinds to raise and force the the other blind out of the hand when if he had moved preflop they almost certainly would have gone into check down mode. I've never seen this play before and all in all it's a very cute play IMO. Thoughts anyone? |

Re: A Cute Move with a Tiny Stack?
Similar play is actually addressed in ToP except Sklansky uses the example of completing the BB in a Limit tournament with 2xbb with 32o. Then moving allin on the flop.
