Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/17) ($1500 PLH and $1k NLH w/rebuys)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] What were the two hands Gavin Smith had the bet about? Was it 9-5o and A-2s? Did they say that heads up 9-5 is a favorite? That seems wierd to me, I thought maybe I misunderstood. [/ QUOTE ] 82s vs. 95o. Friedberg had the 82s. Turns out (shocker) 95o is a 60% fav. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks a lot! Everytime they said it, I heard 8 as Ace and it was blowing my mind. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/17) ($1500 PLH and $1k NLH w/rebuys)
BTW with 3 players 82s and 95o are very very close (95o is slightly better, 24.8% wins vs. 24.4% wins). With 4 players 82s is better, 18.3% wins vs. 17.7%.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/17) ($1500 PLH and $1k NLH w/rebuys)

[ QUOTE ] The $1K NLH (rebuy) event was so bad that the last few hands shown were all ins for huge amounts of chips like the players had already made their deals and just wanted to end it. A3o instacall for 1/2 his stack? [/ QUOTE ] IIRC the stacks were pretty shallow by the end and I was impressed that such an unimaginative player (Chu) could make such an obscurely-correct call. [/ QUOTE ] Shallow? HU? What does that even mean? Chu called off about half his stack with A3o and I don't remember the blinds and I know they were large but they weren't at the endgame just yet. Maybe I missed something because honestly, by that time I was bored to death of this show and just wanted it to end. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (7/17) ($1500 PLH and $1k NLH w/rebuys)
[ QUOTE ]
The only things I've enjoyed in this year's coverage is all of the side shots and extra goings-on in the background. The poker is just the bustouts and standard w/e. Nothing interesting or controversial enuff to really get a long thread going. I can't wait for the Hellmuth one when he's going for his 12th. That one is suppose to be a 2-hr show. These 1-hr final tables seem useless and boring to me now. With all of the filler bustouts and what have you. They gotta be 2 hrs if they are gonna show anything good GAME-wise. Still, a pretty presentation tho (Brandi and Cindy Kay included ) [/ QUOTE ] I'm at the point now that I'm going to keep dvr'ing them but probably won't bother to watch them unless I read something here that makes me feel it's worth my time. I'll just wait for the ME and the 50k HORSE. If they televise the Razz or the 5000 PLO I'll watch those. But frankly I couldn't care less about $1000, $1500, $2500 and $3500 NL FT's. |

It looked like the tournament was still at the 40k/80k blind level and Vu open-pushed for just a bit over 1M, so about 13 BB. A3o is within the Nash Equilibrium (unexploitable) calling range and Vu was definitely aggro enough to make A3o a call against Vu's actual range. |

Those tournaments are a joke, everyone has like 10bb and the show is full with boring allin fests.
Oooh, 99 vs AQ, players are praying for: A) Hold up one time B) Put an ace up there Waste of time, don't know why i keep watching them by now. |
