Crippled stack betting into big stack
40 left in stars 10/180
Hero is down but not out, having lost 75% of chips on a very bad beat two hands ago (KK<QQ). Relatively new to table, so no real reads other than that the table has been a limp-o-rama for about an orbit and a half. Situation: 9-handed, blinds are 100/200 Stacks: Hero has ~1,700 on the button, villain has ~15,000 in the small blind. Action: Hero is dealt XX. (Miraculously) 6 folds. Hero shoves with with what range? Now, I would expect that with such a low M and with somewhat more even stacks, the range would be very wide--even ATC would be pretty reasonable. My question is, does betting into a monster stack change that, because the monster is a lot more likely to fly-swat a shorty? |

Re: Crippled stack betting into big stack
Shove ATC. The next blind level is 150/300/25, which will take your M down to 2.5. At this limpy of a table, you're not likely to get many opportunities to open shove, especially from LP.
Maybe, if SB has a defective copy of the stars software that came without a fold button, and the blinds don't go up for another 14 minutes, and you have 32o, you can fold. Otherwise pick up the 300 chips or you'll get blinded off. |

Re: Crippled stack betting into big stack
I am thinking your range is pretty wide, yeah he is going to be calling with a lot of hands but that means that a lot of the time you are going to be something like a 3-2 favorite or a 3-2 dog, or racing. I think we push AK-A2, KQ, KJ, QJ, JT, AA-22, 56s and up KT-K5, and QT-Q5. If we are dealt a very weak hand we can afford to wait because of our position and the fact that there are no antes yet.
Edited- Dave the next blind structure is 100/200 25 not 150/300. |

Edited- Dave the next blind structure is 100/200 25 not 150/300. [/ QUOTE ] They're using the new blind structure on the x/180s now. The 100/200/25 level has been replaced with 150/300/25. |
