Nash or Dirk. You don't give the MVP to a guy whose team is an 8th seed or not even in the playoffs in the case of Pierce.

I think pheonix was being sarcastic. I think the Top 3 is Nash, Dirk, and LeBron.

1. Dirk/LeBron
2. LeBron/Dirk
3. Nash

1 and 2 depending upon the final quarter of the season...

I assume this is if you had a vote, not if you were to guess the actual outcome?

Yes. People not mentioning Duncan is insane. TP is having a great year and all, but still.

I personally think if you're looking at a team with two players that could be mentioned in the Top 5 for NBA MVP, then neither of them should be considered. Does anyone else agree/see where I'm coming from?

I disagree. See other sports: Warner/Faulk, Bonds/Kent, etc.

I know what you are saying, but I think it's flawed thinking. For example, in 2001, when the Mariners were good, I thought it was ludicrous that a Mariner won (Ichiro).

However, look at Nash. Last year (particularly in the playoffs) people were saying "he's not even most valuable on his own team", whereas this year he has proved that he is most valuable on his team. So, if people adapted this mindset last year, it would have unjustly hurt Nash.

I hope that makes sense.

Josh
