Default Equity Modeling

Anybody read George Gilbert's article about racing early in tournaments?

Any thoughts or comments on it?

Here's the link

Read it kind of fast and did not look closely at the math, but am really interested in what you guys think about some of these different models for calculating $EV in tournaments.

Any time you reference outside articles, you should post links. All I can find via googling is an English architect and an LA model.

That's dodgy ground.. 2+2 doesn't like external links to other poker related sites especially if they are selling etc. Blah. Probably be ok though.

I guess my question is: who races for all their chips early in a tournament? If I ever did that, I might care about figuring out if it was good strategy or not.

If I'm playing for all my chips early, it's going to be postflop, and not a "race."
