Default Valet tipping in CT

I've been to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and i usually tip the Valet 10$, I know people usually give a dollar but i think parking cars sucks, and i usually tip everyone. I give 5 before when i drop off my car and 5 when i pick it up. At Mohegan when I gave the valet a 5 he wrote VIP on my ticket and my car kinda arrived a little early. At foxwoods they seem not to care and looked at me strange. Am i a bad tipper or a stupid person or should i just NIT it up and give um a buck like everyone else. What do other people do in CT?? I know i can search, but I'm looking for specifics.

THANKS!!

$5 is plenty for any valet to be honest. High rollers might toss a 20 from time to time, but $5 is plenty! I would say standard is 1 or 2 on dropoff and pickup since it will undoubtedly be a different person.

Nothing wrong with being generous. If you can afford it and want to give the valets $10 so be it. Pesonally I think that is way too much of a tip, but then again I'm a nitty jew.

just think if everyone gave them $10 they'd be making something like $500,000 a year.
