Re: Tomato juice
I like my bloody mary extra spicy. I was introduced to drinking them at a Sunday brunch buffet with a make-it-yourself bloody mary bar.
I dislike tomato soup (too many memories of grade school cafeteria), but I sometimes drink a bloody caesar. |

All, Anyone ever have bloody marys from Vegas casinos? Do Bellagio or Mandalay Bay make decent ones? [/ QUOTE ] I think only the MGM Grand makes them for customers. It's the only place I've ever had one so that may be a coincidence. But it was pretty spicy and scalded my throat. I guess you could request one at Bellagio or MB and they would probably be pretty decent, since those casinos have nice plants and such. |

Sorry, dude. Sad thing is I actually remember reading your post. I guess when I read the bloody-beer line, I was too busy thinking, "WTF, white wine?" Tomato beers are a once-a-year thing for me. I kind of want one now. |

People that drink them seem to have different ideas as to what makes one good. My only advise is to order them direct from the bartender that is making it and let him know how you like it. The only bad ones I have ever had came from a cocktail waitress. The best I have ever had was from the Monte Carlo but I think that was just because they put a couple of nice size shrimp on them. Had some good ones at Aladian years ago as well made with a tomatilla cocktail sauce. |

[ QUOTE ] I've also never had a bloody mary. After watching a bartender make a couple of them I kind of doubt that I ever will. They throw so much random crap into that glass that I just can't imagine putting it in my mouth, it's like the sausage of the alcohol world without tasting delicious. [/ QUOTE ] People who articulate an opinion without having experienced the subject deserve ridicule. It's like you're talking just to hear yourself speak. In my opinion, when you have nothing else to do that day, there are few things in this world better than a good Bloody Mary for breakfast. My family serves them Christmas morning. Most of all, I am surprised nobody has mentioned tomato beers yet. A case of the cheapest light beer sold coupled with a can of V8 make for a tasty tailgate party. Off the top of my head, the recipe is about seven parts beer, one part tomato juice. [/ QUOTE ] Could you at least highlight the part where I said I watched a bartender make a few of them? Based on what he put in it and the way it smelled I was just totally unappetized by it. I've never had one, as I said, but you still chose to deliberately downplay a relevant part of what I wrote. |

[/ QUOTE ] The relevance is you've never tasted a Bloody Mary. The rest is decidedly irrelevant. Have you ever seen someone prepare a steak? It's [censored] disgusting, with all the blood-like juice splashing everywhere. But, shockingly, steaks taste goot. |
