Default Still at $10 SnGs: Is that wrong?

After 2.5 years, I'm still playing $10 SnGs; 9 man and 45 man.

Is it wrong that I'm still at this level after this time? Or is that fairly normal to still be at this level of development. In my career I've made over $17,000 in career earnings, and have never lost more than $300 in one day. Am I playing it too safe? Or is it ok for me to stay at one level and keep dominating?

Just depends on what you're looking to get out of poker. You're not going to become a world class poker player playing $10 SNG's; nor are you going to be able to support yourself.

If you're just looking to enjoy yourself and make a little money (assuming you enjoy SNG's) then by all means keep beating them up.

If you want to move up the SNG ladder then research bankroll recommendations for SNG's and move up accordingly.

I am quitting my job soon, and I was gonna try to play full time for a while. I'm setting a goal of making $800 a week while playing $10 SnGs: 9 man and 45 man.

I'm very dominant at both. Do you think this is a realistic goal? I have to make $135 a day for 6 days a week to achieve this. Plus I have rakeback.

I know most people play for a living or try to make a ton of money by maintaining a small advantage at the highest stake possible. The way I will try to do it will be to maintain a large advantage, at a low stake; which is the opposite of what is conventional. Do you have any advice or comments regarding this.

If you're very good you can probably achieve a ~15% ROI on $10 one table SNG's. Or roughly $1.50 per tournament you play. So you'd need to play somewhere around 90 SNG's a day and make the kind of money you're looking for.

The problem is that you've probably never played 90 STT's a day for two weeks straight. You're ROI could dip significantly due to volume and fatigue.

Edit: You said in the other thread you've played 1000 SNG's in two years. You probably need to be playing 1,200+ per month to be making the kind of money you're talking about. Or 9 per hour for ten hours a day/6 days a week. Probably need to work on your multi-tabling.

Why not move to 20s...if you have 17k behind, you aren't going to go broke if you lose $200, $500, or even $1000

I wouldn't say that it's "wrong" but to support yourself as a full-time job, I think that you need to jump up a level or two. I would suggest maybe even playing like, 2 $10's and one $20 at a time or something...some kind of combination of the two levels so that you can gradually move up while, hopefully, beating the life out of the $10s.

I like the idea of playing them side by side, I'm at the point with 6.50's and 12 9 player turbos, I start one of each then if i'm playing good I go up to 2 $12 tables.

If your crushing these games consistently you shouldn't have a problem working up to the 20's. I would also recommend playing during peak hours to make sure the games are almost soft. Haven't played the 20's yet but the 6-12 turbos are very beatable, I keep jumping from cash to sngs so I don't know where I wanta go myself.

great suggestion man. That way I won't get too frustrated with the growing pains, while at the same time, still maintaining that winning mentality.
