i can't believe that check folding a set whenever a scary card comes on the turn is profitable. it makes you massively exploitable, which, I think, is generally bad.

I'm was more interested in the river decision when I posted this... what factors would make that a call/fold?

I think you played this fine. All draws hit on the turn, he'll still bet the turn to protect some pair/two-pair hands and extract value from FDs/combo draws etc. C/c turn is standard imo.

Too few players at 100nl overbet as bluffs for making the call on the river +ev. Also, since all draws have hit he need to be able to turn a T or K into a bluff on the river for him even being able to be on a bluff. Or float the flop with complete air. Enough rambling, well played.

Thank God! I was beginning to wonder what the hell was going on with everyone saying "obv c/f on turn." I play it similarly, but c/c looks best. River is a def fold because I don't see him bluffing on this board. But we can't fold this turn. If we are up against a made hand, we can still win if the board pairs and simply c/f river unimproved.

NH.

Disregard my first comment, I could have swore you had 44 when I first looked at your post. I agree with check calling turn and the river looks like a fold.

GRUNCH

i would bet more like $8 on the flop here.
probably c/c the turn, re evaluate T.
i think the overbet is a strong hand here, i would grudgingly fold the river
