Why the AMD? Worst processors on the market.

If you are going to use a external monitor, Staples had Core Duo systems for $599 from HP with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB harddrive. The Core2 Duo was $850 with rebate.

I would really recommned you get an Intel processor.

I called back Dell and put a hold on the build. I will see what they have with a larger screen and Intel processor. Thanks.

How does "my cpu works ok" translate into it being better than the Intel processors. AMD mobile chips are not worthless, but they are not really competitve from a benchmarking standpoint, and probably not $/perforamnce either (I think that goes to Core Duo or slower FSB Core2 Duo chips with 2MB RAM).

Check out Tomshardwares Mobile CPU reviews.

The Core Duo is fine but the Core2 Duo is a great processor. He could step down to the 2MB Ram chips and save some money, but with PT and a HUD the 4MB cache will probably noticably improve things.

I just got off the phone with Dell and they are telling me that the highest resolution with their 17" Laptop is 1440x900 and for their 15.4" it's 1680x1050.

I went through the business side of Dell, is that making a difference?
