1 jar of pickled beets
1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 of a sweet yellow onion, diced enough cloves to cover about a half dollar sized space in the palm of your hand (so, about 3/4 tablespoon) 6-10 hard boiled eggs combine all ingredients and maybe 2 cups of water in a jar, stir until sugar is fully dissolved (if sugar doesnt completely dissolve, add water until it does). add eggs, and let them sit in the pickling broth for 2-4 days until they are dark purple. they should be purple, fading to a lighter purple the closer you get to the yolk once you cut them open. |
