Re: Turning Stone Casino
In 2/5 the rake was 4 bucks every flopped hand and free for every non flopped hand. In the 15/30 I played it was 6 a half hour. The 5/10 uncapped that runs on friday is 8 a half hour. I played a little bit of 10/20nl headsup and they took 2 a flopped hand.

Re: Turning Stone Casino
I only played there once but I remember playing 2/5 300 max which after a few hours we unanimously voted to change to 5/5 which I think was 500 max. 5/5 was odd but I figured hey when you're in rome...

Re: Turning Stone Casino
is the play bad? good? I'm going there in a couple weeks myself, and planning either 1/2 or 2/5NL.

Re: Turning Stone Casino
The $2 fee to play buys you a 24 hour membership into their "Poker Club." Without going into too much detail, poker is a different class of gaming than table games in NY state, and a bad lawyer for the Indian tribe failed to dot the i's and cross the t's on this when they entered into their compact with the state. By making the poker room a club they were able to get around it.
Note that 4-5 hours away is the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls (still NY state), and those Indians do not have to jump through this "club" hoop. They did, however, at one point have to fire all their poker employees from the "Seneca Niagara Casino", create a new entity called "Seneca Gaming and Entertainment", then hire all the poker people back under this company. This also makes them use different chips for the poker room and table games, and the comp card for the casino is useless in the poker room. -- JL |
