FT($26 - $24K Guaranteed) - Preflop Decision with QQ
Hey all, I just got moved to this table 10-15 hands ago, and just doubled up with AA vs. JJ a couple of hands before this. No reads other than that several hands ago the player in the CO made the same size raise, and got re-jammed by the BB with a 2k-ish stack and folded. The raise by the SB could be a re-steal, but it also seems rather strong. What would you do ? BTW, average stack is ~5500 at the time, just in the second hour. Thanks!

I am thinking call here because if you shove (obviously any raise commits you to the hand so you should shove if you raise) i think all worse hands fold and all better hands call. I would not mind a call and then get it in on any flop.

Re: FT($26 - $24K Guaranteed) - Preflop Decision with QQ
I may be wrong about this, But I'm shoving here.
CO could have a wide range being the first to enter the pot. If you call and CO folds and say the flop comes J high and the SB shoves what do you do? What if it comes K high and he shoves? A high and he checks? QQ is way ahead of CO range, and I think SB can have TT and JJ here as often as KK and AA. He also has AK, AQs and is on straight resteals enough to make this profitable in my mind. Ken |

Re: FT($26 - $24K Guaranteed) - Preflop Decision with QQ
This is a pretty clear shove. You don't want CO coming along. It's close, but you could call here, I guess, but I wouldn't. I would call here with KK/AA, planning on getting it in on just about any flop except one with an A in it.
The most important thing to realize is that you're committed to just about any flop if you just call, because you can't call ~1/3 your stack w/o a plan to get the rest in later. The reason I would say fold a flop with an A in it if you have KK is that someone has an A here basically always. |

Re: FT($26 - $24K Guaranteed) - Preflop Decision with QQ
SB could be reraising here with a fairly wide range, because he is up against the cutoff (who we know raises light in late position and is restealable). SB assumes (correctly) that you have air and will fold to his reraise. This is a must-shove. Stick it in and be happy when you end up looking at Ax or a low pair. If he has AA/KK, sorry, you got coolered.

shooooooooooooove. SBs unnecessarily big raise doesn't look particularly strong at all. COs range is huge. SBs range is very wide. next

I would shove it in. Ranges for both players is pretty wide. Your really only fearing two hands here and well if they have one of them so be it. You can't possibly just call off 1/3rd of your stack and fold the flop if an A, K hits. I'd rather get it in against an Ax Kx kinda hand.
