Default Neteller is pulling out of Israel

My american friends, we join you now

Dear NETELLER Member,

NETELLER wishes to inform you of changes to its service. Due to recent legislative changes in Israel, effective July 19, 2007, Israeli members will no longer be able to transfer funds to online gambling merchants using NETELLER.

Please note that you still have until July 31, 2007 to transfer funds from an online gambling site back to your NETELLER account. You may withdraw these funds at any time, should you choose.

Too bad.

Ironic how life in a theocracy can result in fewer freedoms.

It seems to matter little which religous extremists are in power.

Is the Israeli law religon-based ?

Thats an ignorant statement, the ruling party in the Knesset is not extreme from a religious perspective.

There are a lot of religious parties in the parlament and they are trying to make the laws as close to the sacred texts as possible, but most of the laws are supposed to be democratic.
Well, you know, like they are supposed to be in the Usa

Who is next? In my opinion NETeller needs to just call it a day and close up shop, seriously. Online poker will continue in Israel (I hope) through other means of deposit/withdrawel. Let us know how all this goes down.

I don't know now...We don't have a lot of deposit/withdrawal options left and it's basically illegal to play online now, so accepting checks and wire transfers from pokersites is risky.
Deposits are already huge problem, i helped a lot of guys, by transferring them money on Stars in exchange for cash but what about those who want to play and do not know me?

And those who don't want to play no Stars or FTP?

Those are horrible times for online poker in Israel and i am seriously considering moving elsewhere
