If you don't want to go into Memphis and want BBQ, there is a Corky's in Sam's Town still I think. [/ QUOTE ]We have a Corky's here in Lexington and it's pretty good. But the Corky's Buffet in Sams Town was the worst bbq I've ever had. I swear I believe they just past last nights leftovers on for lunch the next day. And the Rendezvous is a decent barbecue place but it's getting by on tradition alone now. It wasn't anything special the last time I was there. |

Re: TUNICA JULY 20-22
My food choice while in Tunica will be the 'Shoe buffet and Nawlins at Horsehoe.

Nawlins is excellent as is the steakhouse. The buffet is pretty good too, especially lunch. The dinner buffet is just reheated lunch leftovers.

Re: TUNICA JULY 20-22
BJJ, the purple church is still closed as previous posters have said, but alot of the same girls have supposedly moved to The Pony, which is on Winchester just off Getwell.
I disagree with the Rendezvous bashing, I think it is some of the best BBQ in Memphis (however, I wouldn't drive 400 miles for it and I agree it is somewhat overhyped to famous visitors). Neely's Interstate BBQ hasn't been mentioned yet, I would be sure to check it out as well. AWESOME bbq and cheaper than Corky's and Rendezvous. Good luck while you're here. I'd check out Southland while you're here, it is VERY easy money, much easier than Tunica. And you'll get a kick out of the "regulars". One lady believes that in a two way pot, no one wins (because of the rake), so there is no reason to bet, regardless of how good your hand is. |

Re: TUNICA JULY 20-22
you can get a comp for Nawlins through the Horseshoe poker room. They give each player that has a players card 2 comps of $15 each, so if you and a buddy go you can get $60 in comps and pretty much eat for free.
you are definitly missing out on something if you didnt know about that. Its definitly a Tunica secret. |
