This hand happend a few months ago and i just was looking at it again, I realized i have no idea how to play this hand properly. No reads because of how long ago it took place.
Advice on all streets please. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP ($215.95) CO ($248.98) Button ($84.55) Hero ($99) BB ($109.60) UTG ($100) Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, CO calls $1, 1 fold, Villain calls 1$, Hero Raises to $4.50, Villain calls $3.50 Flop: ($21) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Villain bets 7$, Hero calls 7$. Pretty draw heavey board, this must be my first mistake and i normally raise flopped sets but here just felt like i wanted to peel one off before showing my aggression. Turn: ($21) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $14, BB calls $14. What do you think about the bet sizing on the turn? Do i dump if he raises me? Should i c/c turn? or c/f? or is leading ok? River: ($49) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) free showdown sounds good to me. should i ever bet here to steal pot if he has a mediocre spade? Final Pot: $49 |

1) Fix pot size on flop.
2) Raise flop! He's not going away with two spades anyway, make him pay for it. He either has nothing or something that he will pay you for. Keeping the pot this small loses value. I would prefer leading out this flop, since you're probably cbetting right? It looks fishy/odd if you suddenly raise and then check. Also, you get less credit on your cbets where you miss. Lead out $5. If he raises, I'd 3-bet. As played, betting turn is very odd. You get no information, if you c/c flop I think you have to c/c turn. And river is just ugh. I'd c/f. Hand played badly. |

I'd raise the flop to $28 to start building this thing.
Its a draw heavy flop and you'll get tons of action against A7,55,6688,99,33 plus you'll price the flush draw. If I'm raising the flop I'm check/calling the turn. Arguably the worst card in the deck but by leading the turn I think we are raised so often that a check/call is in order so that we can see the river and hope to boat. Ridiculous river and its time to fold. I'm not a big fan of turning my hand into a bluff here because given his limp/calling nature I'm not sure he lays down any decent sized spade and he may have called the turn with the nut flush as part of his slowplay plans. |

If opp makes flush or straight on turn don't we want to fold turn? and since we most likely can't c/f then bet folding is best? (if we aren't getting correct odds to try to hit boat on river)

If you raise a PP preflop and hit a set on the flop I think it's safe to say that you should cBet the flop 99% of the time. That way, if he raises you can get his entire stack.
