whatev - 10% to charity... he can write that off on his taxes, meaning that he's giving up NONE of his profit.

These "tax laws," I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

There must Be a JERRY YIN to go with JERRY YANG

JERRY YIN is tight passive, atheist , never seen his kids, would keep all the money and spend it on blow and hookers and got knocked out on Day 1 of the ME.

If people say "It's my faith, I don't need to prove it to anyone", I'm cool with that. You're not supposed to be able to prove it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, this would work extremely well in Debate Club.

Okay, you don't have to prove it; should you at least base SOME of your belief in empirical evidence?

I'm pretty sure that you can (bold is from LegalZoom.com):

You may deduct a maximum of up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) (Line 36 on IRS Form 1040) for the tax year the donation was given.

Poker earnings = part of gross income
deduction = 0.5*AGI (if you give that much, which he won't have to in order to satifsfy his agreement with Jesus).

he would've had to rend unto caesar anyway, so he loses nothing, DUCY?

The whole purpose of prayer is to ask God to bless your efforts so what is the big deal?

Screw debate club. Debate club is what helps people become lawyers, politicians, advertising execs and all the other [censored] who make a living arguing the position they're paid to argue irrespective of what they actually believe.

See, that's hate. I hate lawyers much more than Christians :-)

I offer as empirical evidence in proof of God's existance the number of human beings that have practiced religion throughout history.
