b/f river tp
Stars 10/20 last night
Villian is 2p2 regular, solid, 24/17/2. I have 2 notes on him, that he peeled a JJx flop with 97o, and he gave excessive action with TPGK one time. I've never seen him get out of line with a iso-3bet in position, but I assume that his range is mostly good aces and pairs. Hero opens A9o in HJ, Villian 3bets OTB, blinds fold, I call. Flop all babies with 2 hears, I have the A of hearts, ck, bet, call. Turn is some brick, ck, ck. River A, I bet/fold. ?? |

Re: b/f river tp
easiest river check ever.
his hand is pretty much KQ/KJs and better aces than yours. so are you trying to bluff or what? also I think you should just fold the flop, close though. |

Re: b/f river tp
you can prob c/f tbh, after he checks the turn behind he has a big ace like always. he would certainly bet the turn with a pair+, and probably with any suited broadways/KQ as well to get you to fold an ace.
I would never c/f at the table though, I c/c and hope that he has A8s or some broadway hand |

Re: b/f river tp
Whats there in the 3betting range of a TAG that he doesnt bet the turn with (at least for a free showdown)? The check behind seems very strange to me and lets me doubt that he really is a solid player.

Re: b/f river tp
Yeah, I think his hand is pretty face up in retrospect. Actually that's pretty much what I thought at the table, but for some reason I bet just in case.
I actually almost agree with Yourface about c/f. The question is whether he 2barrels suited broadways, cuz if I checked the river, I think he'd be forced to bet them to make me fold a small pp. |

Re: b/f river tp
Very easy c/c.. BTW villain was me in the hand and your position was the HJ, which makes a huge difference for my isolation range and my percieved idea of your peeling range on the flop. I was planning to c/f river UI FWIW.
My stats in poker trakcer are 27/20 also. Poker Stars Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $10/$20 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with ??? UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises</font>, CO folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero 3-bets</font>, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls. Re: b/f river tp
[ QUOTE ]
big ace trying to induce a bluff [/ QUOTE ] Checking behind to induce a bluff on an all-rag board HU against a thinking TAG is a bad play imo. A check behind on this board after preflop 3bet indicates that you are willing to call any river bet, and your opponent, if he really is thinking, should know this and be reluctant to bluff. I think there is much greater value in betting to induce a calldown from a worse A high. |

Re: b/f river tp
Yeah, I wondered if you would recognize this hand heisenberg. Anyway, I still think you had a big ace, and I now think my river bet is bad.
Also, if you did have something like AK, and the river bricked, you should be folding to my bet because I will almost never be bluffing there. |
