if he's TAG, that means he plays 25% of hands or less. that means you get 75% of the time an extra button. that is huge. much better than having a dude who plays 50% of his hands sitting behind you. if the TAG plays 25% (max!) of his hands, then he can't be 3-betting you more than, say, 5% of all hands played. that is not that big a concern. just fold your marginal stuff to his 3-bets and focus on the fish. if he's 3-betting you every time and making your life miserable, he is not TAG.

Any thoughts on playing with a decent or good LAG on your left? Or what is best to do when a normal TAG player switches gears and starts playing LAG to counter your raises?

"do you prefer 45/10 on your left and good TAG on your right or vice versa?" [/ QUOTE ] Stack sizes are critical. If I'm deep, I want the player who is deep to my right. |

You always want the donks to your right. They are terrible in position, but even worse oop.

You always want the donks to your right. They are terrible in position, but even worse oop. [/ QUOTE ] If everyone has 100bb, of course I want the donkey to my right. If the TAG and I both have 200bb and the donkey 20bb, I want the TAG to my right. (Where I play 200bb is the max buy in and 20bb is the min, so this is pretty common.) You want position on the bad players, and you want position on the big stacks if you're deep, too. You have to balance these things. |

having position on the fish is critical. i always go out of my way to get it. TWP's post is pretty spot on.
