No, that was what I was trying to say, Tuan had been the much more aggressive player up until now in the tournment. Yang was inconsistent, and was generally a little more active/aggressive especially at the end of play on Sunday than the other short stacks, but was usually solid, but would occassionally get caught doing something really weird.

Sure, Jerry says some silly stuff, but I don't see how anyone could seriously dislike him. In fact, I think the public will love this guy (unless ESPN intentionally portrays him as being unlikeable).

Also, while his technical poker skills leave quite a bit to be desired, I thought his overall gameplan for the final table was excellent. He knew he couldn't outplay his more experienced opponents, so he didn't try to. Instead, he played like a maniac and put his opponents to tough decisions.

For all the talk last year about Gold putting on a "clinic" on big-stack play, the fact is he made hand-over-hand so many times that it would have been impossible for him not to win. Yang, on the other hand, had pretty neutral luck as far as coinflips, suckouts, bad beats, etc. Yet he was still able to beat better players, simply because he had a clear strategy, and he had the balls to stick to it when many players would have gone into a shell.

At the time, I thought Childs had a slightly smaller pair, and read Yang as strong. I am not sure about Yang, but what I think was the gigantic mistake in that hand, if I recall correctly, is that Child reraised Yang preflop, and this created a huge pot, with giant odds, which really committed both players to the hand. It would have been a much better play against a weak postflop player just to call, and then play after the flop, and disguise the strength of your hand. Yes, you will get flop where you will have to throw it away, but you will be very unlikely to lose more than half your chips.

Childs raised UTG with QQ, and Yang 3bet from UTG+1, so I still don't think he was bluffing. That's a weird, dumb spot to bluff from.

When I was watching, it seemed very obvious after Childs stood up that he had QQ, meaning Yang probably had JJ+. In hindsight, this was probably incorrect, but at the time, I remember thinking it was a good laydown unless he was getting better than 2-to-1, and I don't think he was.

He doesn't strike me as a guy who'd gamble away much money.
But I'm usually way off with my reads so he's probably hitting the pit as we speak

There's 3 positive things to note about Yang:

-He got the aggression part right
-He won't be bragging about his skills like Jamie Gold
-We'll never see him at a FT again
