200NL: Follow up on my semi-bluff?
Villian is 25/16/1.9 over 142 hands. He has been betting quite a bit in position when I do not cbet, hence my flop line.
Onto the hand, folded to me at SB, raise to 7 with Ad5d, BB calls. Flop is T42r, I check, he bets 8 into 14, I c/r to 26, he calls. Turn is Kd, giving me a FD on top of my gunshot. Should I continue my agression? or hope turn gets check/check as I dont really want to get pushed off my hand. After he calls my flop c/r, I put villain on sets, Tx, 35, 55-99, JJ and maybe QQ (he doesn't 3 bet at all). Is this range too generous? |

Re: 200NL: Follow up on my semi-bluff?
It really depends on the stack sizes. If we both have decent stacks I'm betting 2/3 of the pot and folding to a raise.

bet the flop. btw what are you representing besides the fact that you would like your opponent to fold.

Re: 200NL: Follow up on my semi-bluff?
Flop c/r is the worst possible play. I like c/f, c/c, b/f, b/3b, and b/c better than c/r.
Def def def bet turn. |

how bout c/c flop and lead turn? you still capture his cbet and pot is smaller.

Re: 200NL: Follow up on my semi-bluff?
Forgot to include stack size, effective stack 100BB.
Noah, can you explain why c/r is horrible? I would appreciate an explanation a lot. My thinking is that the flop is unlikely to hit my opponent's hand. And even if he called, I still have outs to the straight and pair ace. |

Re: 200NL: Follow up on my semi-bluff?
c/r is horrible because you don't get any credit ever and you set up stacks to let him shove over a turn bet.
