Stars 200$ After the Bubble with QQ
When getting to the final stages of a tournament (or just in the money), Whats the verdit on correct play of QQ ?
It seems players get busted with QQ many times and I was wondering what in fact is the correct way to play them ? If the pot hasn't been opened yet, obviously a raise is in order, but after some one re raises you, can you fold the hand ? In this hand I knew the opener would fold his hand, My stack was about half the average stack, so I decided to go for it : {Ten hands before I had the exact same hand up against the same as here, and got a chop after a 45678 board...} PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t3000 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com saw flop|saw showdown Button (t44179) SB (t154971) BB (t17075) UTG (t152576) UTG+1 (t69251) MP1 (t55963) Hero (t37043) MP3 (t91208) CO (t56626) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t7999, 1 fold, Hero raises to t36743, MP3 raises to t65487, 4 folds, UTG+1 folds. Re: Stars 200$ After the Bubble with QQ
I'd do the same thing. Tough luck that your up against KK. I dont see why you would play it any other way. You raise to 24k and your pushing flop no matter what falls, shoving this pre is what I'm pretty sure 95% of the people will say on this, just didnt work out this time.

Re: Stars 200$ After the Bubble with QQ
As to the reraise question...I mean I've folded QQ PF on occasion. The problem is this. Late in online tournaments, most everyone is usually relatively short. That being the case, you just aren't able to get enough information to find out that your QQ is beat before all your stack is in the middle.
I'm sure you're aware that this hand played itself...I can't even imagine what kind of action I'd have to be faced with to fold QQ with 12 BBs. |

Re: Stars 200$ After the Bubble with QQ
Just calling or even folding (gasp) with QQ preflop at a 9-handed table in MP after a standard opening raise isn't a good strategy.
I make the same move in this spot everytime. |
