Having trouble with blind schedule/chip distrubition v92915
Hello. Saturday, hosting a smallish 16 person game. Nothing big, but I would like to have a good structure. My original plan is as follow, but it seems too have some flaws. If anyone has a good chip plan/blind structure, please inform.
Chips: 25 x12 100 x7 500 x4 1000 x2 5000 x1 Blinds: 25-50 50-100 75-150 100-200-25 150-300-25 200-400-50 250-500-50 300-600-100 400-800-100 500-1000-100 600-1200-150 800-1600-200 1000-2000-200 1200-2400-200 1500-3000-500 2000-4000-500 2500-5000-500 3000-6000-1000 4000-8000-1000 5000-10000-1000 Obviously, a flaw is not having any 50 chips, but having some SB/BB/ante using 50. I would like each player to start with in between 22-28 chips, so including 50's might be tough. I would like the first blind level to be 25-50, to ensure 200BB's. Thanks for any help |

Re: Having trouble with blind schedule/chip distrubition v92915
Just forget the antes. For a field smaller than 50 or 100, they're only needed to speed up the end game. And shorthanded tables (which you'll have for a large portion of the time) bring the blinds around fast enough that they're not really helpful.
How long are your levels? |

Just forget the antes. [/ QUOTE ] Much more trouble than they are worth for your small tournament. |

Re: Having trouble with blind schedule/chip distrubition v92915
Blinds should look more like this:
25/50 50/100 75/150 100/200 150/300 200/400 300/600 400/800 600/1200 800/1600 1200/2400 2000/4000 3000/6000 (if your guys are normal, it'll end about here) 5000/10000 7500/15000 10000/20000 (Cap) Don't consider a lack of t50 chips to be a flaw, in fact, they're a waste of chips. Get more t100, t500, and t1000 instead to aid in coloring up when low denoms aren't needed anymore. |

Re: Having trouble with blind schedule/chip distrubition v92915
or this...pretty close to the last structure, but changed a bit to aid in coloring up chips: (the colors are based on standard denoms, change as you need to or see fit...25=green, 100=black, 500=purple, 1000=yellow).
25/50 50/100 75/150 100/200 150/300 200/400 (color up greens) 300/600 400/800 500/1000 800/1600 1000/2000 (color up blacks) 1500/3000 2000/4000 (color up purples) 3000/6000 4000/8000 5000/10000 6000/12000 8000/16000 10000/20000 (Cap) Also, follow this link to the "build a blind" spreadsheet...make up one with the chip colors and blinds, then print it out a few times on a color printer. This should be a really nice addition to your tourney and eliminates all the extra questions you will normally have to answer. http://www.homepokertourney.com/create-a-blind.htm Also, ditto on leaving out the antes and 50 chips...both would just slow the game down (esp the antes). |
