brag: seriously badly pwned a "senior" student in my gay McDojo

I'm the lowest ranking student in my new martial arts school. We did some boxing sparring today in class, so I teamed up with one of the senior students who is much bigger than me. It was LOL EMBARASSING for him. He hit me zero times in three minutes. I was just slipping, parrying, blocking, or keeping out of distance, and taking my shots as they appeared to me. Towards the end, I just said "screw this", and decide to turn up the heat on him. He jabs me (with very very predictable timing), and I duck under it and throw an overhand rear and follow up with a straight lead punch and then another cross. Beat: he got saved by the bell [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

It was pretty awesome. I knew what he was gonna do before he did it like every time. It was like he was moving in slow motion or something.

I go to 3 martial arts schools. Two of them teach me how to fight, and the third is just massive massive ego boost for me b/c everyone in the class sucks, including the intructors. LOL

They have me in their beginners class because I don't know all the exact techniques they teach. It's very formalistic nonsense. AFAIK, it takes like 18 months or something to get promoted. I'm probably quitting the school in another month or 2, so I won't ever find out, but I'm guessing (hoping) that the guys in their seniors class could murder me.

It was just really embarassing for the dude, because he had a good reach advantage on me, but couldn't use it worth a damn, because my timing, sense of distance, etc., were so much better than his.

2 is ok i guess, if they have scheduling issues and you can afford two quality programs. But 3 is just silly.

The Judo school is $20/month
The JKD school is $40/month
The Jun Fan School is 120/month

Guess which one is the McDojo?

I basically agree with you that it's a waste of money, which is why I need to quit in the near future. However, the Jun Fan school does have some utility. I need someone to hold pads for me more often than I'm able to get out of the JKD school, and the Judo school obv does zero striking. Right now, I'm trying to set up sessions with training partners to supplement my stand-up training, because my last 2 training partners are chronically unavailable.

Once I have a good roster of training partners to spar with/do pad drills with, then there will be zero point in going to the Jun Fan school. I can just do cardio stuff on my own, and maybe get a gym membership with the money I save.

my regiment is:
monday: 90 minutes Jun Fan
Wednesday: 90 minutes Jun Fan
Friday: 2 hours Judo
Sunday: 2 hours JKD

I used to do Judo on mondays and wednesdays, but I've been getting injured like 80% of the time in Judo, which makes me not want to do it too often these days. The only reason I'm in this damn Jun Fan school is because my boxing class at school ended, so I needed some damn people to hold some damn pads for me so I could do my damn padwork. Also, I thought they did real sparring.

Today was a rarity, in that we were allowed to freely spar, but with limited tools. For some reason, the instructor said we couldn't hook, or go to the body or kick, which is [censored] stupid. It makes it really hard to hit someone with only straight hits when the only area they have to defend is their face, and they have huge ass boxing gloves on to block with. I still trashed him, b/c I rule obv.

In the JKD class we do real sparring. Clinches, kicking, knees, elbows, etc. We use boxing gloves so groundfighting would be silly, but last week this guy tried to clinch with me because I was ruining him so hard from kicking/punching range. I'm like "hahaha. Clinch no good fish", kneed him a couple times and then put him on his back with judo. SHIP SHIP SHIP IT

Danny, there's a chain of McDojos called United Studios of Self Defense that offer loads of free trial classes. I'm thinking of whoring their schools, so that I can beat up their "advanced" students in sparring. I'll play it off like I have zero MA background.
