i liked that excerpt although i thought it was a little vague mathematically. in fairness, probably will read even better within the context of the rest of the book.

and i agree about really focussing on whether you're committed or not... but what about when you have a bigger stack? say 200BB (or even you and a few others with 400BB), then i think you're getting into tough spots even when you bet more pre-flop with the KK.

yeah it is. a few more pages would've addressed that. mostly we needed to get people thinking about how preflop affects postflop with a common no-limit problem.

it's there in detail. our goal is to replace vague ideas like "in a reraised pot do X" and "with deep stacks raise more" with:

1 What SPRs are you likely to be able to attain?
2. What SPRs will your hand play best at?
3. What's the best overlap between 1 and 2? (If there's no overlap, usually you fold.)
4. If you hit that overlap SPR, will your opponent still have a range you can profit from? (If not, you usually fold.)

not exactly rocket science, but it sure makes planning hands easier.

I have high hopes for this book. What volumes are planned at the moment and what are they going to be about?

That's a hell of a lot of stuff packed into one book.

The fact that there's a volume 2 kind of scares me.
