Top pair on a troubling board with a somewhat aggro player
2/5 NL at the Borgata
Villain is a loose and aggressive player, although not totally crazy. He likes to bet his hands and I've seen him make a handful of bluffs over the course of a couple of hours, although nothing dramatic. He is in the SB I have $450, am in MP and have A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG+1 raises to $15, I call, SB calls everyone else folds. Flop($50): A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets $25, UTG+1 folds, I call Turn($100): K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB bets $40, I raise to $80, he deliberates for a minute or so and then reraises to $240. The pot is now $420 and I have $230 left. The pot odds are a shade better than 2.5 to 1. I think a set is moderately unlikely, and he could easily have any two pair because he frequently called with junk to a small raise in the blinds. A straight is also a possibility, but significantly less likely than two pair. I have four solid outs to the nut straight and 5 possible outs against two pair. With this I'm guessing he'd need to be bluffing about 25% of the time to make it a solid call. Do you agree, and what would you do in this situation? |

Re: Top pair on a troubling board with a somewhat aggro player
i like a raise on the turn here lets say 100$
but i think his 3-bet shows you clear, that you are beat as played i don't think that sb is 3-betting as a bluff... i fold here |

That's what I thought at the time, but you can't get them all right
