I hope this post is within the rules of this forum, I've checked .

Alright, I've been searching the forums a bit for the Fallsview Casino, Live poker and Niagara in general. So this is the info I have. (I've read the B&M Card Room Newbie Guide v. 4)
<ul type="square">[*] Call ahead on weekends to get a seat (I'm going on a weekend so I need this)[*] Rake is $5 per half/hour for a seat
It's $6/half hour for 5-5 NL[*] There is a 5/5 (this means sb &amp; bb are $5 right?) $500 max NL buy-in game there
correct[*] There is a 5/10 $1000 max NL buy-in game there
correct[*] The Casino Niagara is really not an option
Its about as cool as hanging out in a dumpster and trying to convince the maggots to play some NL[*] Beer is $3.75
sounds about right for a bottle of domestic[*]Tip to a waitress is $1 (for a drink)
Standard[*] Tip to a dealer is $1-3 (at these limits)
Standard but many people don't tip at all.[*] Tip bartenders more for faster service next time (thanx LV tipping guide)
If you're going out to a bar or club yeah sure[*] Don't slow roll
when it comes to showdown just table your hand when its your turn to open[*] Pay attention
obviously[*] You either chop or you don't (in regards to the blinds)
At $5-$5 with a session fee the rake isn't affected by a heads up pot so i'd recommend not chopping unless you think the person on your left is better than you and he asks you to chop[*] State my action, so not the time to get nervous
Easiest way to avoid confusion at the table is to state your action before performing it[*] Get some chips and start practicing chip tricks as not to look as much of a live noob
I can't do chip tricks and I've played a LOT of live poker. Just be able to count your bets out and stack a pot semi proficiently and you will be fine
Can anyone just clear this as correct (some of this looked outdated)?

Now to unanswered questions (I have now read something in the region of 30+ threads about Live poker, Niagara Falls and the Fallsview)

<ul type="square">[*] Breaks from the table, how often, if at all can you take one (I know it's -EV but I just want to have fun win or loose) (I'd be taking them probably after folding UTG or UTG+1 unless there is a better and more appropriate way too do so)
You can take a break from the table whenever you wish. A marker will be placed by your stack indicating whenever you miss a blind and when you return you post and surrender if you miss both. If you're away from the table and its time to pay session, the floor or dealer will grab it from your stack. One person at a time may take a 45 minute meal break from the table during which they pay session.[*] Running it twice, will I face this question
not allowed[*] Can I straddle? I love to when I'm winning, just to donate money
Its a blind raise and is not live.[*] I won't ask to show hands, ever. But if I get asked should I always show? Are there some situations where you don't have to?
If the hand doesn't go to showdown and someone asks you what you had you don't have to say or show anything. But when it gets to showdown don't play the stupid 'what do you have?' 'no what do you have?' 'oh i asked you first' primitive mating ritual that drives everyone nuts and slows the game down[*] Ipod? I don't sing (please bear in mind that I'm Icelandic and might not speak as good English as you do)
not allowed at the table[*] How many hands per hour?
25-30ish[*] Leave on my BB or when my half hour rate charge is due again? (and should I announce that I'm leaving at the end of the round / half hour)
Completely up to you, just let the dealer know you are sitting out. Session is paid for the upcoming half hour and not the one that just passed, so if session is about to be called in the next few min and you're UTG just stand up and rack up your chips.[*] Any idea if there will be any tournaments?
There are satellites for the WPT event but thats about it. If you want MTTs, I believe they have them at Seneca Niagara on the US side.
Other [OFF-TOPIC]

<ul type="square">[*] Thanks bav, for many good replies I've seen[*] If someone is there on the 14-16th of September and wants easy money, I'll be there donating my money[*] A good place for a steak in between sessions
There are a ton of restaurants within walking distance of fallsview casino, but i think you definitely can't go wrong with the keg steakhouse[*] A good place for bacon and eggs in between drinking
Fallsview has a really good breakfast buffet and a pretty decent diner inside too which serves breakfast all the time. Whatever you do don't go to dennys across the street, as its probably the most expensive dennys in the world and is definitely -ev[*] A good website for things going in Ontario during the 14th-23rd (concerts, shows, stand up comedy, sports, stuff like this)
the only sports in-season will be blue jays baseball and toronto argonauts football, both in toronto which is around 90 minutes away. In terms of shows, check the fallsview website for a schedule. There are plenty of other attractions in the region though, so google niagara falls tourism for a comprehensive outlook.
Any guesses on how I fare with my choices of games (5/5 $500 max &amp; 5/10 $1000 max) my PT stats are:
50k hands at 5NL-50NL (mostly 10NL and 25NL)
20.8/12.43/2.49 (but recently upping my aggression post flop) I have a win rate of 10PTbb/100 Hands + I 'never' fold 72o pf live Pay close attention to the other players at your table when not involved in hands and you will soon figure out their playing styles and who you can push off a hand, and who is only playing the nuts, and who is completely clueless. Adjust accordingly.

I dont wish to quote you whole thing but it looks decent and the dude that updated was pretty accurate. My rule is Always tip a dollar atleast unless you just steal blinds. You don't even really ever need to tip more then that but the dealers to appreciate it and even though they don't keep it it helps the better dealers stay in the poker room and not go out the floor to deal and easier game.

Take breaks when you want I go about once a half usually at the deck change or chip fill for a smoke.

Tricks, meh don't worry about them really. Avoid looking like a total noob by just acting in turn and following the action

Don't go in September. Thats the month they turn off the falls for routine maintenance, and it kills the tourist flow into the casinos.

Are you serious? please say you aren't...

I just did a quick Google search and all I could find relating to Niagara Falls and September was that it's is recommended to see that falls from mid may to mid September (I'm there 14,15,16 so basically mid sept).

So, unless I find something else about this I'll continue planning my poker trip, if that fails I'll just be a tourist.

It's often frozen by the end of September, so you're banking on a coin flip right now, I'd say. Good luck!

Niagara is my stop for two things, no. 1 poker and no. 2 the falls, so if the falls are off then poker it is and a lot of it so I won't cry if the falls are frozen...

I assume you mean half an hour? or half ?

Anyway I was thinking like 10 minutes every hour or so, depending on how I'm doing... Is that really bad etiquette?
