With this rule change perhaps the Borgata will now set up a 5-10 HOSE game. Hold em, Omaha eight or better, Stud, Stud eight or better.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would definitely play this. Maybe a 2+2 planned event at the Borg? Anyone?

Given that they had 2 tables of the 10/20 2 way going strong Saturday, there's def. a player base coming there willing to play mixed (and I'd be very happy to donate at the HOSE game and am sure others would be as well).

Based on my perceptions at another casino which has made this switch, it appears that moving from 6/12 to 5/10 makes it more enticing for slot-machining 3/6 players to sit at a higher game while waiting for a lower table to open.

Here's a link to the relevant NJ Casino Control Commision regulation.

And to quote the relevant passage:

19:46-1.1A Value chips; denominations; physical characteristics

(b) Each casino licensee shall be authorized to issue and use value chips in denominations of $1.00, $2.50, $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $25.00, $100.00, $500.00, $1,000, $5,000 and $20,000 and in such quantities as the casino licensee may deem appropriate to conduct gaming or simulcast wagering in its casino or casino simulcasting facility.

Also of interest is that the "primary" color of casino chips must be the same at every casino...the regulations not only state what color each chip must be, but what specific shade of that color under the "Munsell System of Color Coding".

[/ QUOTE ]

The Borgata has a $10,000 chip.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually I'm not sure about this.

Most of these players are regular nits and are not willing to try anything new. If we got a group of 5 or so together that should be enough to start the 5-10 HOSE, I'm definitely in so add me to the list.

Whenever I played in that game, there were very few white chips on the table

[/ QUOTE ]

Borg should have authorized $2 chips just for this game, and it would have been healthier. The small blind structure should have switched to $4. Of course the downside is there is a cost incurred in buying the new chips just for the game so a 5/10 probably looked better in managements eyes.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think $2 chips are permitted in AC.

[/ QUOTE ]

Incorrect. I have one in my hands right now. I've also seen then at the Trop as well.

Also, are you guys talking about 5/10 limit?

Neat stuff. Are those colors standard in Vegas too?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it's a legal standard, just a generally-followed defacto standard.

Actually, it can't be a legal standard, since some joints use blue for $1 and some use white.

I'm pretty sure you're either lying or you have a fake in your hands.

And of course we're talking limit, the title says "5/10 at the Borg - no more 6/12". Deduction!
