Yang called an UTG raise from the button with Q3...with a shortstack?

I like Garfinkle out first, and I guess I'd take Lam at this point.

Nothing personal against Scotty Nguyen, he was probably better than most of the field, but I am better than him, and there are plenty others who are as well.
The only reason he is hailed as a god is because of all of his media exposure and his personality. If he wasn't personable he'd be considered a worse player? That makes no sense. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You do realize that smallballing it cost him millions in chips just a few hands ago right? [/ QUOTE ] Which hand are you talking about? [/ QUOTE ] The 34 hand agaisnt Tuan Lam. He could have muscled Lam's TT out with bigger bets on a borad w/ 2 overs... [/ QUOTE ] God, I hate results oriented posts like these. Who knows what Lam would have done? Are you in his brain? I'll defer to Scotty since he was there, and he's an experienced tourney player. Over and out - off to bed now. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say scotty's play was bad. It may very well be +EV since he was there and knew the situation. I just stated one possible way the hand could have gone down. Of course Lam could have called his bigger bets anywhere alone the line but we'll never know... Have a good night. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 6, Sun., July 15**
For some reason I have the chip counts written down from when there were 47 left (next to last break last night). Here's where the remainng players ranked at that point:
Kalmar 28th (1.95 mil) Lam 23rd (2.565 mil) Childs 4th (6.505 mil) Hilm 5th (5.7 mil) Rahme 10th (3.86 mil) Watkinson 12th (3.8 mil) Khan 2nd (6.6 mil) Garfinkle 14th (3.575 mil) Yang 8th (4.1 mil) Kravchenko 21st (2.855 mil) kind of interesting to see the 2 biggest stacks right now were the shortest at that time. FYI - Henson was chip leader with 8.5 mil -- Andy |

Ugh. Maybe Scotty wouldn't have made the best champ from a PR perspective but damn...it's impossible to care about the FT now. Apartheid FTW I guess?
