Re: 100 NL, how good (or spewy) is this?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I don't think you left yourself enough money left for the river bet to get him to fold. Villain has decent odds to call the river push. [/ QUOTE ] Still $50 for him to call. I don't think that's too bad. [/ QUOTE ] It looks like Villain gets 3-1 on the river call. I'm not sure that's bad enough given that he led into you on the river. I'm just saying you had a chance to give him much worse odds than that to call if you would have bet more on the turn, that is if you were planning on bluffing off you're entire stack on this hand, which you apparently were. |

I think this is a good place to try this if you think Villain will lay down. There are a lot of herotags out there.

I wouldn't be surprised if villain showed up with AA here.

I think you should have folded pre-flop, and definitely fold to the 3-bet because you're not deep enough.

preflop is very very ugly.
Postflop: well, i guess if you are going to make severely minus ev calls preflop, you are going to have to take lines like this a lot postflop. |

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly to the point. Post flop skills obviously matter a lot, but poor preflop hand selection puts you in spots like this too often for comfort. The preflop call is ugly as it forces you to either give up or make a MASSIVE play at the pot. |

Re: 100 NL, how good (or spewy) is this?
If I were villain I would probably put you on QQ or KK, consistent with pf, checking the flop, and aggro play after.
AA might well have checked the flop too, but it would usually get it all in pre. The presence of the A on the flop also makes it a less likely holding. The only other real contender is a set, which isn't going to call his 3bet preflop all that often. So, even if it were an even money bet, you're getting called a lot by KK, if that is what he has. With the pot odds on the river, I don't like this at all. I just think if you're going to run a full scale bluff, firstly it's more likely to work against a better player who's paying full attention to your moves, and secondly your line needs to be a lot more consistent with a holding that beats him. |

Preflop is pretty bad without any dead money in the pot..
Your line postflop is about as good as your going to get. Make a note if he folds/calls |
