Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
Hey everyone (not sure if this is the right forum for this)
I have a problem with my sessions. I can't quit until I've lost it all. For example, I was playing Fallsview (local casino) 1/2NL and it was my first time playing there, and within 2 hours, I was up to $375, from a $100 buyin. Another two hours go buy with nothing much happening due to cold cards and I don't know if it was the cold cards that got to me, or the two annoying tourists at the other end of the table, bitching because the dealer mucked his KK (he actually pushed it forward) but then within the next hour, busto. Rebought and lost that within 1 1/2hours. Same story at a small home game a couple days ago. 4 Players, .10/.25NL There ended up about 80 bucks on the table, and I at one point had $50+. But fastforward another 3 hours and bam......you guessed it, busto. Im looking for help on how to fix this part, not sure if it is because I get bored, or it's varience, or I get exhausted so it turns into a -EV game for me, I can't figure it out and I was hoping from some insight from the 2p2 community. |

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
If this is a returning problem you probably have tilt issues or you have a bad high variance playing style. If it'a a tilt issue you shuld quit playing when you feel you're not playing your A-game. Otherwise post some hands if you want help.

From the extensive details you included in your post I can conclude this is just variance.

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
I'll hurt your feelings like the others didn't: you're probably not a winning player. Stopping when you're ahead has nothing to do with it. Sure winning players go busto. I'm just saying that this most likely isn't a tilt issue...

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
If you have tilt issues or find that the losses (and wins) mean something to you make sure you are ridiculously over-rolled for your game - like 40-50buyins+. It reallys helps when you can take a multiple buyin hit and it hardly stirs your overall bankroll - seriously, helps you play better and tilt less.

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
I dont quit a table until i lose my buyin or reclaim my losses either. Losing a lil just feels like a p.iss take.
I generally dont play on tilt when i do this though. |

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
as long as you've an edge on the table theres no reason to leave.
Theres also 2 variations of tilt. Winning tilt is really dangerous. Try to calm yourself down and keep playing your Agame even if you lose or win big. |

Re: Can\'t fix damn leak in my game
Snoman -
People are probably going to say some mean stuff to you in this thread and what not - don't take it too hard, it's just kind of how things run around here. I know where you're coming from, and the situation probably revolves around the fact that live full ring poker can be mind numbingly boring at times. Getting in only around 35 hands/hour or whatever, sometimes you can sit there for a full hour without really playing a single hand. After a while, you go stir crazy and just decide enough is enough and it's time to make something happen. I suggest taking frequent breaks, and as practice tell yourself that after 1 or 2 hours of poker, you will sit there and fold everything except premium pairs until you leave - just to get yourself used to sitting there bored for hours on end. |
