Default 50NL: QQ BB 1st Hand

This was the first hand at the table. Button min-raised preflop so I'm assuming he's a donk. I hate getting min-raised on this flop. Everytime those donks min-raise me they have a set.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $9.25
Hero (BB): $50.00
UTG: $27.90
CO: $51.35
BTN: $30.40

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
2 folds, BTN raises to $1.00, SB folds, Hero raises to $3.50, BTN calls $2.50

Flop: ($7.25) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $5.50, BTN raises to $11.00, Hero raises all-in to $46.50, BTN calls all-in for $15.90
Uncalled bet of $19.60 returned to Hero

Turn: ($61.05) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

River: ($61.05) T (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $61.05

Looks and smells like villain hit a set. I see donks minraise mid-low pairs all the time. I still play it same as you though, especially since villain is short. NH.

do you ever win playing it like this though? i sure don't.
it seems to me you have to just 3 bet him on the flop and reeval on turn or fold if he shoves

I essentially did 3 bet flop. Note the stack sizes. And even with 100bb you can't profitably 3 bet the flop and then fold.

Because I was hoping one time they wouldn't have a set.

I don't see any other way to play it against a villain that has $30. Obviously, you either fold or push to his raise. I just don't think I could fold here. Too many hands that he might raise with that you beat.

Is there any other play you're making here? I'm not sure that there is. Everytime you hit a set against another person who has an overpair, they are getting in against you. There are always going to be hands like this in cash games, no matter what you do.

I raise more preflop. I'm not folding this flop, way to drawy to fold against a minraising donk.
