Re: Vegas Trip Report: Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
James,
Outstanding report. I'll also do some player evaluations later, but one quick comment first. I've been grinding semi-pro blackjack for over 10 years now. Sure, I'm always looking to learn and I pick up new tricks from various players all the time, but it's not often that I see guys who are better than me. Meeting Femming I was reminded that no matter who we are, we should always strive to improve. Femming showed me that while I'm pretty expert, I still have more to learn when it comes to blackjack. |

James,
"I had slightly passed the amount that I should be drinking" Diablo to GoG Sunday afternoon in Oakland airport: "I'm gonna try to not get really f'd up drinking this trip." |

James, Please rank the blackjack table presence prowess of all the people you played with. Also, specific thoughts on going to whisper mode that one time. [/ QUOTE ] God whisper mode was one of the funniest things I've seen at a BJ table. For a moment the dealer actually thought James was crying. Very solid report James. |

Re: Vegas Trip Report: Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
PT,
Thank you for having my back when it looked like we might have to go to war with MGM/Mirage Corp. While I was not surprised that Matt's buddy was such a quality guy, I was shocked to find out that you were relatively new to the pits and hadn't arrived in Vegas with an established love for the game. The way you carried yourself at the tables was with the manner of a true blackjack pro. Of course, your performances at the Bellagio bar and the Rio poker room were also superb. |

Re: Vegas Trip Report: Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
ED,
It seems you enjoy the pit more than poker? Why would you prefer a pit game versus say a loose 25-50 nlh or plo table? For my part, I get nauseous at a $10 roulette table but can play six-figure poker hands and actually enjoy the risk factor even though I know the importance of variance far outweighs any EV advantage I may have in the game given my infrequent play. |

[ QUOTE ] this really makes me want to move out of vegas. [/ QUOTE ] huh? [/ QUOTE ] pretty expensive to get in the habit of doing this stuff, even only when friends come to town. Much easier to handle when you're here on vacation with $x to blow. |

Re: Vegas Trip Report: Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
Wow, this post is gold. I have no idea how to play pit games. Half the stuff you wrote I had to read 3 times and still don't get it, but I'll save the noob questions. I will ask one though. Any of you guys longish-term winners at BJ?
Once I get up to those types of stakes I'll be sure to remember this post. |

General BJ question. Excluding being dealt blackjack, when is it right to start high fiving? [/ QUOTE ] i'm going to have to go out on my own here (apparently, wtf) and say never. |
