quick question:

say i play 2/4 hu and i game select. i have $1600 on a table and a guy who i know is a good decent reg sits for $400. i sit out.

have i basically lost the right to my $1600 by refusing him action?

Ive found in my recent HU experience that most HU regs(at least at 5/10) will respect your wishes once they realize you will not play them. ive found higher limit players are more respectful, because in theory they know that if they piss you off, you could just sit at their tables constantly and sit out, thus denying them action. for example last night Traheo sat down w/ me at 5/10 I had a decent stack, but I sat out and said " no thx" in the chat, so he left.

I've also respected other peoples wishes when I sit w/ them and they refuse to play me. sometimes I do beg a little tho

Yes, I've always left whenever someone said no thanks when I sat at their table (and never understood why they said it in the first place as I'm not that good). The only person I ever forced off was a guy that doubled up on me via a gut shot and then sat out with his new stack. I wasn't about to let him play someone else with that stack.
