Default Flop Decision

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $106.65
BB: $111.25
UTG: $148.20
Hero (MP): $98.50
CO: $85.10
BTN: $24.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $4.00, CO folds, BTN calls $4.00, 2 folds

Flop: ($9.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)

Not really sure how to go from here. Checking to him seems weak. But at the same time betting seems like he can easily just play perfect, folding if he missed and pushing if he diddn't.

I don't understand this thread. Making a continuation bet into a single opponent seems very standard, no?

I think it's about c-betting against short-stacks, which is difficult for me too.

Exactly, the rest of you misread this.

I bet/call because I spew good. c/f is ok, too since he prob doesn't bluff w/ nada because he's short and dumb and stuff.

I didn't notice stack sizes, doh.

Hrm, well, different short stackers play different. On the whole, though - you do allow them to play perfectly here, I see what you're saying - but that's not a bad thing if they are not tricky. If they always just fold when they whiffed, and only push when you're beat, that's not a bad thing, since we know exactly where we are and we didn't let whiffed overs draw out on us or give ourselves a hard turn/river decision, etc.

So, yah, I guess I'd bet/fold the flop here by default. If I noticed him in the past smoothcall good stuff and push draws, though, I might go bet/call here.
