Any ideas where Gus gained that extra 550k in the first hour from?

Dario is down to 1.8 million (from 2.4 million). No updates on how this happened.

[/ QUOTE ]

here is part of it:

Alan Levin Doubled Through Dario Minieri

On a board of {Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Alan Levin fired out 60,000. Dario Minieri raised to 350,000. Levin called and showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top pair and top kicker. He sniffed out a bluff from Minieri who showed {5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Minieri slipped to 1.8 million while Levin increased his stack to 412,000.

[ QUOTE ]

Last year was notorious for how quickly people were knocked out of the tourney, even though most of the field had very healthy stacks in terms of BBs, and long after the prize money started to seriously escalate (final 100 or so).

[/ QUOTE ]

I think people just meltdown and lose all their chips after a while. Playing for so long is pretty damn stressful. They want out and the only way they can get out is by busting out of the tourney.

No single hand apparently.

The biggest pot I've seen reported is 116K.

Any Tuna updates? Would be sweet shakespearean completion for him to take it down...or come really really close.

Josh Evans Eliminates Steve Miranda

The very short-stacked Miranda moved all-in with 9-10 and was called by Josh Evans with pocket Jacks. The flop was unnecessarily cruel--J-9-10. The 10 on the turn gave both players a full house but when the case Ten didn't hit on the river Miranda was eliminated.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, Steve can take solace in the fact that no matter how many chips he had he was getting stacked on this hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

However, he probably would have mucked T9 preflop if he wasn't so desperate.

could probably add Chris Overgard aka CMO to the list, former MN player, 2p2 lurker, and friend of a lot of MN players.

57 players down in the first hour today...thats unheard of at this point in the tourney...is it not?

[/ QUOTE ]

Were you following this last year?

[/ QUOTE ]

obv not this closely, THIS year, one of my best friends is deep in it and i have a good piece of him...a lot more incentive...
care to answer the initial question?

[/ QUOTE ]

OK, I should have been more clear.

Last year was notorious for how quickly people were knocked out of the tourney, even though most of the field had very healthy stacks in terms of BBs, and long after the prize money started to seriously escalate (final 100 or so).

[/ QUOTE ]

thank you for the clarification...i knew you weren't really an a-hole
