Default Compress a video.

I have a video recorded that I want to shrink for sharing purposes. If someone could give me a helping hand here it would be much appreciated. Ive downloaded the latest divx codec and tried to compress the video file with Virtual Dub.
Havent had much luck

When you say you've not had much luck, what do you actually mean?

Thiks isn't the best forum for this question anyway really. Better try afterdark or similar.

I mean that I've failed in my attempts to resize the video thus making it small enough for convinience. Whipwas's videos for instance are not bigger than maybe 50mb/0,5h and that is with audio(not sure it makes much of a difference tho). I dunno which codec to use. I tried the latest divx but resizing wont work b/c the source video width/height has to be a multiple of 4/2 which my video is not.

I like Camstudio and would only as a last resort switch to Camstasia and Learning's guide b/c Camstasia has a compression feature built-in while Camstudio does not.

I'm going to take this question to a different forum now, just thought I gave it one bump here.

Thanks, any suggestion is welcomed. Not sure why compressing an hour-long vid takes 24h.
