unmentioned, is mad gymnastic skills, especially like those guys you see on internet videos that run around and jump off really high things, and all that stuff.

This would be number 1 in terms of fun by far, other stuff would be more useful.

I believe this is called "parkour." Consult El Diablo or Wikipedia for more details.

Being a good boxer would pretty much be the coolest thing ever. Even though I dont really enjoy watching boxing that much, I think they are so impressive.

1. photographic memory/perfect recall. obvious reasons.

2. affinity for languages. i dated this half russian/half swedish girl who grew up in france. she spoke four languages when she was six and twelve when she was sixteen. by the time i met her she spoke nineteen. in the eighteen months we dated she learned cantonese, mandarin and hindi. just so she could eavesdrop on conversations in public. i envied her ability to just pick up a new language every few months.

3. virtuoso violin ability. this would impress everyone.

4. the writing ability of someone like italo calvino or jorge luis borges. all about legacy.

5. incredible reflexes. why not, right?

Car skills aren't a good one anymore as everything is on computers and built really tight and you can't "tinker" on new cars the way anyone could on old ones.

NOTE: Many people are choosing what are more "gifts" than "skills," so I'll do that too:

I'd pick:

1. High math/symbolic logic and other logic skills. It wouldn't translate directly to poker, but would make it easier and help some higher level thinking on it. For instance, I would love to be the type who could put together something like eastbay's SNG Power Tools. And high level physics is of course fascinating, but a lot less fascinating if you can't follow it in the first place.

2. Drawing/painting. I've done little of it and am incredibly lousy, but it's tremendously fun and expressive. And I admire that skill so much in others. Would love to just be able to idly sketch things and have it turn out looking great.

3. Dancing. Most kinds, really. I even like ballroom dancing quite a lot. If you can dance, you always have something to do and somewhere to go, and chicks are crazy for both dancing and dancers.

4. Musical -- playing the piano or guitar really well would be pretty great. Again, infinitely soothing and expressive alone, like drawing/painting, but with music you can also entertain a room full of people. The chicks dig it angle is cool enough, but just for personal expression, knowing how to really play a musical instrument well would be awesome.

5. Memory -- this would help with basically everything. I have a decent memory, but like most people's, I'm much better at remembering things I am interested in, and stuff I don't care about can be almost impossible for me to remember at times. Being one of those guys with easy recall of most anything would be fantastically useful.

One of the extremely rare people here who has ever mentioned Calvino. I love this writer.

I don't know about legacy, but being able to communicate that well, with a good helping of both beauty and what you believe to be true, borders the divine, in my estimation.
