The large field ones are really not necessary with the 4-table SnG.

I really disagree with this. The MTT's have such horrible bubble play that you can really fold in from way out. I generally try to get to 1.2K over half the average stack when the bubble bursts ( usually during the 600 1200 level so I want one extra BB) then start folding in. Tonight was the first time I ended up bubbling but that was because I made one horrible play.

The MTT's are much softer the the 4 tables because the 4 tables lead to less bubble play, and thats where you can have a huge advantage on the field. My 2 cents atleast.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but the max no. of people is now 17500. It should mean the sats run longer anyway.

Would like to try something like this when i get some money back on stars

Can I ask why you guys are doing this challenge??? Is this for sheer profit, or just for the sake of competition. I know these things are soft, but it seems to me you can make a much better profit playing 4/180's or something??

[/ QUOTE ]

The competition is just for fun. Hardly a BR builder for the winner.

But in general, these tourneys are so soft, and with such low variance, I do see them as a good BR builder for a low-stakes donk.

They can't be compared to $4/180's - the $2 -> 6 seats take about an hour, and run constantly. The $4/180's take 3 hours...

Both fun, both soft, but these sats are quicker & lower variance.

Today's update.

If I don't get on a sick heater tonight, I'm toast...

...well - looks like I'm toast anyways.

OT

ps - more on the question of "why bother" - these are 10 times softer than the $2r -> $33 WSOP sats, and I played those for about $300 profit or so. & those were a) rebuys, and b) limited in how often they ran.

These bad boys - the $2 -> 7 seats - are very good for me. I figure I win about 2/5 of the ones I enter, so we're talking 100% ROI. For a low limit donk, thems are good numbers.

Well the heater wasn't...

Won 3 of 'em:

55300252
55299017
55294325

This can be a cruel game - many lost on coolers, runner-runner, lost 80/20's and the like...

meh...

As I said, I'm going away this weekend - I'll post a final update / ship the $$$ on Monday morning latest.
