Now, I'm a bit of a purist in general, but I'm curious what others think of this.
Lately if I'm playing by myself and walking, I decided to try listening to an audiobook on my Ipod on the course. Ipod in the pocket, run the wire up my shirt, earbuds--barely noticeable to anyone not within 10 feet of me. I won't do this if I'm playing with anyone else, and I'll keep the volume low so I can hear "fore," sirens, rangers, etc. I found I enjoy listening to an audiobook or light music in between shots. I just press the button through my pocket to pause it before I hit, then restart afterwards. Anyone call this sacrilege? Have others been doing it? Just curious. |

I've done it...golfing solo is SO lonely that music/audiobook is really nice.

I just tried it out for the first time on Monday, and I absolutely enjoyed it.
I was walking by myself on a small, slow neighborhood course. Did pretty much the same thing as you. |

Never though about doing this. I'll have to try it my next loner round.

Never thought of trying it. Never will.

As long as the volume is down so you can hear, I don't think it is a problem.

whenever i play solo i do it or even when i am at the driving range. i have a nano and just string it through the back of my shirt and i have a clip that attaches to my belt, its quite enjoyable and i would definitely recommend it, i've never found it to be distracting at all.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your conduct. Any thoughts to the contrary are silly.

I use it every time I practice, and if playing alone, on course too. Be careful, you dont really hear noise, like impact sounds, it skews your perception of what your impact feels like until you get used to it though.
