Re: UB 5/10, QQ vs. psychopath
SS, I think Befolder's got it closer to right than you: "The only time these guys ever check or just call is when they hit the flop well. Most of the time."
"Call" doesn't really exist in his vocabulary; it's either bet/raise/checkraise or fold. I took my cue from the last time he was in SB, the hand that made up part of my read: he three-bet with A8s and bet it the whole way with just Ace-high. I was a lot more comfortable raising his bet than betting his check. Turn K, river was some other brick that wasn't a 5. Villain checked both times and I checked both times. I know the river wasn't a 5 because he showed 32o for the nut low. The only way I was getting any money out of him was if he tried check/raising me off my hand, and I decided to take a line that wouldn't let him. The downside, of course, is that I let him have two free cracks at the wheel. But if he didn't have that, I think he bets at me every street like he did with a naked Ace the orbit before. |

Re: UB 5/10, QQ vs. psychopath
i think if you do this you need to put a raise in on the turn, or maybe even better, the river. it will definitetly induce a bluff 3bet plenty often so we must call a raise. a true psychopath/maniac may bluff3bet as much as 65% of the time on average in that situation. there is so much value in a pot like that, granted it increases variance the times he has a better hand.
mostly i like putting up my dukes on the flop, though. |

Re: UB 5/10, QQ vs. psychopath
IMO assuming villian is a true psychopath...
1. You don't have to induce bluffs 2. You're not likely to force him to fold 3. There really aren't scare cards 4. They c/r with air not to make you fold, but "because the voices say so." |
