Office British Open Pool
I'm looking for a way to put together an office pool revolving around the British Open. Anywhere from 4-10 participants and I'm hoping to make it where picking the winner of the tournament isn't weighted too heavily. Also any ideas on how to involve side bets would be great.

Re: Office British Open Pool
Maybe I can help...
I ran a Masters pool for years where a draft was not possible so I devised this format. Each participant would choose a four player team. Your final score would be the total of your best three players. If three players from your team did not make the cut, you were out. In order to keep it interesting you could only select up to two players from the top ten in the world rankings, which currently look like this: Woods Furyk Mickelson Scott Els Singh Stenson Ogilvy Donald Harrington At least two of your selections need to come from the rest of the field. A tiebreaker, just in case, could be predicting the winning score of the open - and final round score. What do you think? |

Re: Office British Open Pool
I'm liking it so far, but I would like to add a draft element. I've never done/been in a pool for a golf tournament so I'm going in blind. This sounds like a good start but who wouldn't pick Tiger?

Re: Office British Open Pool
My father and I always have a draft for every major. No Tiger (because we both dislike him), and we'll do "at least 2 below ranking 50" or similar rules like that. Total score of the top X players on your team (and you're disqualified if you don't get enough). Always fun.
