[ QUOTE ] *sigh* [/ QUOTE ] On that, we agree (though for different reasons) [/ QUOTE ] I am going to try and be helpful for a second. You do realize that we do NOT want him to fold, right? Ergo, having FE is *not* a reason that we would push. |

By the turn I assume he has a pair and possibly a flush draw giving him 14 outs. Also, because I'm OOP I'm having a very hard time telling exactly what he has and may have to give him the odds he needs for his play to be profitable by calling a river bet. |

Oh God, I am an idiot and I'm sorry. I mixed this thread up with an AK thread.

[/ QUOTE ] Live 2/5 I live outside of the metro areas and my needs are simple. Besides, I'm trying to get better, but as we all know, wining is hard enough, wining a lot requires mastery of many skills, which is why I've been here for such a long time. One thing that complicates matters is that since the beginning of the year, I've seen more former internet players that have skills and some players coming from out of the area to feed. |

Re: return to FTP 3/6, part 2
[ QUOTE ]
His most likely hands are the nuts (AK/AQ spades) or QQ-AA without a spade. He almost never has JJ/TT, and probably not QQ-AA with a spade either because he would have shoved flop. So giving free cards is really not a concern for me. But DJ obv is kind of crazy, so I just shove and let him call with QQ/AA. Maximum 2 combos of the nuts, and 6 combos of QQ/AA w/o a spade. [/ QUOTE ] word. except for one KK no spade combo which now beats us, but we're still ahead of that range as a whole. I check turn, he checks behind. River is the 9s (probably worst card in the deck). I check intending to fold. Standard, right? |

Re: return to FTP 3/6, part 2
there is a [censored] ton of levelling going on once that K falls. check looks like you have the K, and shove looks like you don't. it's obviously a bad card for his range, and you both know that, so i like a shove
check-fold is a really interesting thought but your margin for error in folding a set is so small. when you're wrong, it's a massive mistake. and you have no real reason to think he'd shove the flop with AhKs and/or not shove the turn with it when you check. same for AA. JJ/TT make absolutely no sense. shoving has enough value that you don't need to take that risk |
