Live 5-5 AA preflop facing heavy action
Live 5-5 at Fallsview casino. I'm utg with AA and a $1370 stack on a 10-handed super loose table. I open to $40, and get 5 callers, with stacks ranging from $300 to $1200 and skill levels ranging from super nitty old dutch man to absolutely terrible chinese kid who doesn't even speak english. A dirty looking old man with really gross teeth and a stack of what I thought to be $900 (he was in the 3 seat i was in the 9 and couldn't see the stack of hundred dollar bills hiding behind his chips) repops it to $160. This guy's pf range is super narrow to begin with, so I'm putting him on JJ+ with absolute certainty. What's my action?

$400, at this type of table if you call, you could get 4 more callers and a super inflated pot.

Re: Live 5-5 AA preflop facing heavy action
as a survey, who likes calling (hopefully noone because it would be terrible IMO), who likes reraising to $x, and who likes shoving?
i know this topic seems totally standard, but the results are pretty mind blowing. |

Re: Live 5-5 AA preflop facing heavy action
Results:
I think about it for a minute or so while trying to look as uneasy as possible, count my stack, and shove. If I had known at the time that nasty teeth actually covered me, I would've 4 bet to about $450 and let him stick it in, but I figured he would call a shove due to how much was in the pot and how much I thought he had back. Basically I wanted him to call with the thought that I was trying to take the pot down right there. Anyways, nitty old dutch man sits there for about 90 seconds, looking at his cards, then me, then the money in the middle over and over again, shows his hand to the guy beside him, says 'I can't believe I am folding this', and then mucks his hand. Nasty teeth asks how much I have back, counts his stack, looks at the money in the middle, and then tanks for a good 4-5 minutes while glaring at me with his nasty black and yellow smile, hoping for a read. I try to look as anxious as possible, and then call clock on him, hoping he would take it as a sign of weakness (first time in my life I've ever called clock but I was trying to piss him off so he would call). He ends up saying 'probably a bad fold' and mucks KK face up. The guy beside nitty old dutch man says 'you were probably drawing to a straight or flush because he folded the other two kings'. Nasty teeth asks me if I have aces, and I just muck my hand and don't say anything while silently steaming inside about how much money I left on the table by shoving. |

Re: Live 5-5 AA preflop facing heavy action
Oh yeah and the most bizarre part of it all, is that nasty teeth asked me when we crossed paths later if I did have AA and I told him yes and he said if I would've min raised to $320 he would've shoved. WTF.
