wtf

Someone give me details on new Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown releases.

I know nothing about this and I am very excited that apparently there are even new albums coming.

Sunset Rubdown will put out "Random Spirit Lover" some time in october, and I'm guessing the wolf parade album will come out around then as well, though I haven't read any firm dates.

heh, just googled Random Spirit Lover and apparently I heard about it coming, then forgot about it over the last couple months since the news came out.

Winged/Wicked Things is on the tracklist and if you've heard it before from the Daytrotter Sessions, it probably would've been the 2nd best song on Shut Up I Am Dreaming.

You can probably still download it (along with another unrecorded song "Jason Believe Me..." and two different recordings of "Shut Up..." and "They Took A Vote...") on the Daytrotter website.

Muscle and Flo is pretty fun.

Do they really count as pop? Either way they really are awesome.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the new Spoon CD. That and the new Animal Collective CD are pretty much all I've been listening to for a week or so.

All,

Not sure if any of you are fawning over Vampire Weekend -- http://www.myspace.com/vampireweekend -- as much as KEXP -- http://www.kexp.org -- is here in Seattle, but they're pretty damned good.

http://seattlest.com/2007/07/23/dont_let_vampir.php for a review of a recent show of theirs.

Some that haven't been mentioned:

Elvis Perkins- Ash Wednesday
http://www.last.fm/music/Elvis+Perkins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buMpNq2cf-E

He has sort of a Jeff Mangum type voice which some people don't really like, but I can't stop listening.

I'm surprised I haven't heard Midlake mentioned anywhere. They are a pretty decent indie-folkish band comparable to Band of Horses.
http://myspace.com/midlake

Calexico is another good alt-country indie band.
http://www.myspace.com/casadecalexico

I'm From Barcelona is a good Swedish indie pop that released a solid album in 06.
http://myspace.com/imfrombarcelona

Rock Plaza Central is another one of those Neutral Milk Hotel sounding bands, similar to Beirut.
http://myspace.com/rockplazacentral

I'll add more later.
