Doesn't look like he'd fold any ace ever, does it?

I don't mind the smaller bets in h1 too much, because he might suddenly get scared of the ace or something if he has like a 6, but in h2 I'd bet at least $125 every time, and I think just mashing the pot button is fine. If he calls $150 half the time he calls $75 both bets are equal EV. I don't think he folds an A that often if you make the bigger bet. After the first hand I even like an overbet shove...

[/ QUOTE ]

oviously i'm lacking experience against such calling stations. i'm more used to the type that calls pretty much everything as long as they have a draw, but then folds even to very small riverbets unimproved.

you mean "overbet shove" like betting $549 into a $153 pot?
it would be sweeeet, but i doubt that he would call it, even with two pair...

[/ QUOTE ]

Why?!?

Do I need to say it again?

He called $58 with KING [censored] HIGH in the previous pot. KING [censored] HIGH, MAN.

[/ QUOTE ]

come on!

1.
i didn't put him on two pair at all. i thought he had like an 8 or maybe an A without a kicker. whenever he had a decent hand he started betting or raising. here he just called, so i really couldn't put him on a strong hand.

2.
i actually think it would be -EV to shove that second hand. because he would fold most of the time but obviously call when he rivers a set or something. of course i would have bet more if i KNEW he had two pair. but HOW SHOULD I KNOW? he could have anything there really, just not anything strong. this two pair hand was probably the strongest hand he could possibly have without raising at one point.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jig already did the math for you. How often does he need to call $550 for you to make more money than if he calls $75 100% of the time?

Why are you trying to convince yourself that he has exactly 20% of his range and betting so that he will call $75 with that 100% of the time (which, by the way is still too low. This guy calls $100+ with a pair ALL DAY LONG), rather than shoving, and assuming that he'll call with 20% of his range, plus the added bonus that 1 or 2% of the time, he calls with the rest of his range?

Anyone have a Stoxpoker vid subscription? Worthwhile?

[/ QUOTE ]

I had one a while back (about the first 60 videos). CardRunners is a much better choice for NL. But for other games and especially limit holdem, Stoxpoker is awesome. He does have NL videos, and they're great, but they're pretty infrequent. Things may have changed by now. Not sure, I haven't been a member for months now.
