Re: QQ - Way behind in a huge pot...
Preflop good. Flop and turn bad.
There is no reason to 3bet this because it's going to be capped and bet on the turn something like 90+% of the time. One of your opponents will often (usually?) have a set here and when either does AA/AK is often going to play aggressively anyhow. Calling the turn is close if you knew it would only be two bets too often it's going to cost you four here... |

[ QUOTE ]
River: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ONE TIME DEALER! [/ QUOTE ] Obviously. Well, my thought process on the flop was that I was getting an immediate 21-2 with the worst case potential being 28-4. So, if I was calling (and expecting action to continue behind me), I thought I should be 3-betting to try to slow down things (keep in mind that I cold-capped pre-flop). Looking back I realize my implied odds were crap considering I would have to dodge a ton on the river if I caught on the turn and with 4 to the straight on board, it would be unlikely that I could recoup much of the cost to call there. On the turn, I really expected the action to slow, paying 23-3 at the very worst to see the river (and 21-2 immediately). I couldn't really put anyone on a FD, so I considered all 4 outs good there. I know I didn't include reads initially, but the two aggressors here are decent 30/10/1.5ish types and the button was pretty new, which led me to believe that the action wasn't getting capped on the turn. -d |
