I'd consider caling that flop. You could getting about 5:1 on the call and much better than that implied You're 11:1 to hit your gutshot plus you're ace might be good if paired (could be as good as 7:1). If there's been business between you previously he might also be straight bluffing your CB.

But you have to bet the turn to build the pot when you hit or you've a low chance of stacking him.

Bet at LEAST 1/2 pot on turn, prolly a lil more.

Peel sounds good. Lead turn since you hit a gut shot and often it is not a hand villain would stick into your range.

bet the turn, if he has air he's not calling a river bet anyway, if he has hearts you're giving a free card to beat you, if he has a set he'll call a turn bet
