[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Doyle Brunson said prayer cures cancer in Super/System [/ QUOTE ] In his case it did. RZ [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, modern medicine is a big joke. [/ QUOTE ] Go research Doyles case, There was no modern medicial cure. The Doctors told him there was nothing they could do. RZ [/ QUOTE ] Little did Doyle know that his guardian faun snuck into his bedroom and placed a mandrake root in a bowl of fresh milk under his bed, feeding it two drops of blood a day until the cancer disappeared. That's what really cured him, the prayer thing is just crazy talk. |

[ QUOTE ] HoH vII p135 Yellow zone strategy " The probability of hitting a set or quads on the flop when you hold a pair is well - established: approximately one in eight. " [/ QUOTE ] Where's the blunder? [/ QUOTE ] You have 2 outs to flop a set and there are three cards on the flop. Your chances to hit a set are: 2/50+2/49+2/48, which is approximately 1 out of 8 times, which is the same as saying 1-to-7 odds. The probability to hit quads are smaller. I don't see the blunder either. [ QUOTE ] The probability of hitting quads on the flop when you hold a pair only 8-1 maybe i should re-think how i play small pairs [/ QUOTE ] How do you play them? [ QUOTE ] "Play Poker Like The Pros," pp. 1-394. [/ QUOTE ] Genius, lol. |

NLTP: "By playing a strictly algarithmic style of pushing all in with 77 + and AJ+, you can beat all but the toughest games." [/ QUOTE ] This looks silly when taken out of context. He's referencing a small stack strategy from Ed Miller's book Getting Started in Hold'em to emphasize the intrinsic advantage of having a small stack. What David is saying happens to be true when you buy into a deep-stacked game with a short stack. This is backed up by many hours logged by Ed Miller using this strategy himself. Also, NLHTAP goes on to read that although this strategy has a modest expectation it is a surefire way for a pro to slash his winrate. |
