Default A Good Walk Spoiled: Days and Nights on the PGA Tour by John Feinstein

This is an excellent book, even for the casual golf fan. If you are somewhat interested in golf and you haven't read it, you definitely should.

Has anyone read it?

Yeah I agree, I don't even rise to the level of casual golf fan, but this was a good book. I read Feinstein's book about Bobby Knight, A Season on the Brink, good as well.

Among his golf works I think it is his best. Lots of great behind-the-scenes stuff without as many of the interminable backstories that I thought brought down The Majors and Open a few pegs.

You may have gotten more feedback on this had you posted it in the Golf forum. It wouldn't have sunken as quickly, at least.

Yes, I read it about a year after its release. I really liked it.

I usually like John Feinstein's work, but I don't usually like reading about golf. I think the combined impact is that I am more likely to enjoy this book than the average sports fan.

I read this book about a year and a half ago. Excellent work, as with everything Feinstein writes. Very good insight into the finances involved in being a professional golfer, the ups and downs and the expectations. Makes for a particularly interesting read when you draw a comparison between the money in the book (1994-1995 seasons) with money in PGA tour events now.

While we're on the subject, "The Majors" (1998) is also an excellent Feinstein golf book, as is his latest about Q school.

This was a great book, I read it around the time it came out. Open wasn't as good although it did give me a newfound appreciation for what it takes to put on a golf tournament. The Q-school book sounds interesting.
I love golf and love reading about golf though, so my standards are low.

I loved it.

I also liked his one about March Madness. I wasn't really into Basketball much, but that book really got me into watching more of MM.
